We don't want your money

If you do decide to send a gift of clothes out, we suggest that you keep the package small to save your postage costs.  The ideal size is a small package made up of a sealed strong DIY plastic bag, sent surface mail, and weighing less than 2kg.    Please also put Second hand clothes with a Nil Value on the customs form so that the charity doesn’t have to pay customs duty upon receipt.

Also, to respect the dignity of the people receiving your gifts, we do ask that the clothing be clean, folded and in good wearing condition.

If you would like an acknowledgement from the recipients please include a note with your email address.  If you would like to receive regular newsletters or more address labels, do please let me have your email address and I will put you on the mailing list.

If you feel you would like to help financially perhaps you might like to do what I’ve just done and set up a £10 monthly donation to help.  If just 34 of our friends network do similar on a monthly basis, or even 70 people give £5 then it will help the orphanage survive the recession.  Remember just £10 a month!

There is now an official Building Blocks Foundation bank account.  Registration no 06706823

If you need the official sort code and account number just email me or Kim@kaproperty.com, as she is the official treasurer this side of the waters.  If you need a bank mandate form just let me know and I’ll email one over to you.

Alternatively if you just want to send a one-off cheque the address is:

An unusual request that is constantly made is for sticking plasters and antiseptic gel packs or sachets.   Just putting a pack of sticking plasters in any donation bag you send, makes a lot of difference for someone who has to protect themselves - or be protected from blood infection.
